Robin Jackson

Robin Lilley Jackson graduated from Miami University in 1996 with a B.A. in Sociology and emphasis in Criminology. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Ohio Northern University, Claude Pettit College of Law, in 1999 and immediately relocated from Ohio to Charleston, South Carolina. In 2000, after becoming licensed in both South Carolina and Ohio, Ms. Jackson became an associate in the Bucher Firm where she focused in the area of defending police, fire and EMS employees in motor vehicle accident claims, as well as nursing home defense.


In 2003, Ms. Jackson joined the Stuckey Law Firm and began practicing primarily police §1983 defense, as well as defending inmate claims against the South Carolina Department of Corrections. In 2006 after a brief stint handling real estate matters, Ms. Jackson returned to the world of litigation to join Senn, McDonald and Leinbach, where she was an associate until 2012, when the firm became Senn Legal; she became a partner in 2013. She continues to defend local, county, regional and state governmental entities.


Her practice has broadened from law enforcement defense to also include representing the Medical University of South Carolina in medical malpractice and tort claims, as well as handling condemnation cases for the South Carolina Department of Transportation and Beaufort County. Her primary clients are law enforcement agencies in the Lowcountry, including the City of Charleston, City of North Charleston, the County of Charleston, the County of Berkeley, the County of Dorchester and SLED.


Ms. Jackson has handled many cases in both state and federal court, as well as the South Carolina Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and is licensed to appear before the Supreme Court of the United States. She greatly enjoys appellate work, and has argued and won a number of cases involving novel questions of law. The primary subject matter of her litigation matters include police shootings, high speed pursuits, jail suicides and rape, sexual assaults, prisoner suits, excessive force and false arrest claims, malicious prosecution, conspiracy claims, medical malpractice claims, governmental auto tort defense, slander and libel claims, civil rights claims and Title IX defense.


In her spare time, Robin enjoys spending time with her family and friends doing everything from watersports to traveling to book club. She lives in Charleston with her husband, a City of Charleston Police detective, her wild and busy children and her dog.
